Definition of water:
Water is a liquid without colour, smell or taste that falls as rain or obtainable via other sources such as tap/borehole water, springs, rivers, seas, oceans etc. Water could be found in lakes, rivers and streams as well. Water is used on several occasions such as:
- Washing
- Drinking
- Cooking
- Cleaning, etc
The human body contains a high content of water, whether in rehydration or dehydration. Water is very vital and important in the human body. Therefore, in order to sustain the perfect functioning of our organs, we should rehydrate always. This is what some biologist will choose to call 'homeostatic balance/order' and water is at the center of it.
The Benefits of water
The benefits of water to humans are sighted in many ways:
- Water is beneficial in respect of digestion to humans
- In some cases drinking of water soften hard faeces during stooling
- Water does not contains fats in it, and it has zero calories
- Water helps in the manufacturing of medicines in one way or the other
- Water also play a very vital role in agriculture
Therefore, we should always drink water so as to nurture our skin and make our inner organs function well.
MISCELLANEOUS IMPORTANCE OF WATER
- Water helps to prevent constipation:
Firstly, constipation is the state of being unable to get rid of waste material from the bowel easily. Constipation is actually one of the challenges facing most humans around the world, and it is caused by dehydration. So, in order to prevent constipation, we should always rehydrate by drinking lots of water.
- Water helps to relieve headaches:
Headache
is a continuous stream of pain in the head, and has awfully affected so many people
around the world.
Dehydration causes the brain to pull away from the skull, which causes pain and which results to headache. But when we rehydrate, the brain returns to its usual state and then the headache will be relieved.

- Water regulates the body temperature:
Firstly, temperature is the measurement in degrees of how hot or cold a thing or place is. Now, body temperature is the measurement in degrees of how hot or cold the body is. On a normal basis, it is abnormal for the body temperature to be very hot. When we engage in one physical activity or the other, our bodies lose water through sweat and due to this dehydration and lacking of moist in the body, the body will eventually become hot. Therefore, it is advisable for us to rehydrate by drinking plenty of water in order to regulate our body temperature.
- Water enriches the skin:
The skin simply put, is the layer of tissues that covers the body. While 'to enrich' simply is to improve the quality of something. Now, rehydration enrich the skin
by maintaining the skin elasticity and preventing the skin from premature
aging. Therefore we should always drink enough water to renew our skin and
maintain the optimum skin moisture.
THE ECONOMIC BENEFITS OF WATER
Water is not only very vital to humans but also to the economy and the world at large. Most industries and firms make use of
water during their processing or manufacturing stage. Such industries use water
for
·
Washing
·
Fabricating
·
Cooling
·
Processing
·
Diluting
· and transporting
Washing:-
Industries e.g. textile industries, use lots of dyes and chemicals in the process of designing materials with different colours. These chemicals have adhesive features. As a result of these adhesive dyes and chemicals, these industries need lot of water to wash off all the chemicals before the materials will be distributed.
Fabricating:-
Many industries use water for fabrication. E.g Bottling Companies. These industries needs water for the successful production of their product such as Soft drinks.
Cooling:-
The automotive repair and maintenance services industry (mechanics firm or workshop) uses water as coolant, for the cooling of automobile radiator in car engine, because when it overheats, water has the capacity of absorbing the heat.
Processing:-
Industries like cassava processing industry uses water for several purpose. Cassava Processing Industries use water to clean raw cassava tubers, and also they use water to get rid of impurities in starch. In other words, cassava processing industries require water to carry out their processing activities.
Dilution:-
Dilution is the process of making a liquid weaker by adding water or another liquid to it. The juice processing industry uses water for the dilution of juice by adding water to a concentrated liquid or juice to dilute it until it gets to a stage that would be accepted to consumer to drink.
Transportation:-

Importers and exporters in a country or around the world
certainly use sea for the transportation of their goods. Water, in this aspect has played a very vital
role to the world. One of the benefits of using sea transport is that goods can
be shipped in bulk and at a very low cost. And also it is efficient and safe.
